Subject: A historic moment
Obama for America
Although it’s Christmas Eve, I wanted to share some exciting news: The Senate just passed a historic health reform bill. In all the back and forth, it’s easy to lose sight of what this incredible breakthrough really means. But consider this: This Christmas, there are millions of Americans without health insurance who risk losing everything if they get sick. There are mothers and fathers who wonder how they’ll provide for their children because an illness has wiped out their savings. There are small business owners who worry that they’ll have to lay off a long-time employee because the cost of insurance is rapidly rising. If we finish the job, all this can change. We will have beaten back the special interests who have for so long perpetuated the status quo. We will have enacted the most important piece of social policy since the Social Security Act in the 1930s, and the most important health reform since Medicare in the 1960s. In Decembers to come, millions more will have access to affordable coverage. Parents will have the security and stability of knowing their insurance can’t be revoked at a moment’s notice. And the skyrocketing costs plaguing our small businesses will be brought under control. When you make calls, write letters, organize, this is the change you’re making — a better life for your family and for men and women in every state. There is still more to do before I can sign reform into law — a last round of negotiations and final votes in the Senate and the House — and I’m counting on your help every step of the way. But for now, I hope that as you celebrate this holiday season, you remember that the work you are doing is making our union more perfect, one step at a time. For that, I am grateful to you. Merry Christmas and happy holidays, President Barack Obama P.S. — Organizing for America supporters are signing a note of appreciation to all the senators who have worked so hard to make this possible. I hope you’ll join them: |

Sustaining unsustainable excessive consumption…till death do us part. Apocalypse know. http://bit.ly/8c7TRM

Hello friends,
Mickel Adzema says:
So
I was just walking around at WallMart with Mary Lynn an hour ago and I
was thinking about all the crap that was being sold there — all the
useless, unnecessary, time-wasting Stuff that we’ve been brainwashed to
think we need, want, desire…. I said, “Y’know, you’d think a recession
would cause people to focus on what things are really needed, really
wanted, and to trim back the excess. And if they did that, that would
require the companies producing this excess — which only ends up in
landfills, pollutes the planet, exterminates species, and leads to the
death of all — to stop production of this junk. And if they went out of
business, so what? Let businesses bloom that are part of the problem
not part of the solution. Unfortunately, I think some stimulus ideas —
notably Obama’s and the Democrat’s stimulus package was criticized
because it had a slant towards supporting sustainable and
solution-oriented investment — push for expansion of the existing
planet-damaging enterprises and their superfluous products. So, instead
of making lemonade out of these recession lemons, we simply prolong the
life of things that need to be put behind us while we shorten the lives
of all living things on this planet.” (more at /)
Then a little while later, at home, I come across this comment making
much the same point: “A really savage depression *might* force people
to live in more sustainable ways.”
Happy New Year from Mary Lynn and I to all of you. SillyMickel NOTE: If for any reason you wish no longer to receive these updates, simply reply with the words “No thanks,” and I’ll take you off the list.

The Kind of Egoistic Thinking That Got Witches Killed

Hello friends,
I just posted to Amplog, my comments re a New York Times article. “Attack, in the New YorkTimes, on Hollywood’s “pantheism” and the meaning of the movie “Avatar”
is ill-informed, naive, reactionary, and displays a medieval mentality
that led to the slaughter of millions in religious wars,
witch-burnings, genocide, Imperialistic slaughter, rape, and
enslavement of peoples of the Third World, and now planet death.” For more: http://sillymickel.amplify.com/ Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from Mary Lynn and I to all of you. Fight Back
Posted by sillymickel in History on December 18, 2009
The Senate health care bill is being gutted one piece at a time, and people are fed up.
A new poll shows growing opposition to health care reform—from progressives angry at moves to drop the public option.
Governor Howard Dean called the bill “the insurance companies’ dream,” while former insurance executive Wendell
Potter said, “It absolutely is a big gift, a big bailout to the industry.”1
The Senate, led by Joe Lieberman, has gone too far—and there’s tremendous momentum
to fight back. Progressives like Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Raul Grijalva have already said they can’t
support the Senate bill.2 Now we need other progressive leaders in Congress to join them.
Can you call Rep. Woolsey today? Tell
her
that voters are counting on her to stand up and fight for a final health care bill that is as
strong as possible, and includes a national public option.
Here’s where to call:
Representative Lynn Woolsey
Phone: 202-225-5161
Then, please report your call by clicking here:
After the Senate bill passes, leadership from both sides will meet to merge the two bills into one in what’s known as a “conference
committee.” In theory, both sides will negotiate and pieces from each bill will be included in the final legislation,
which then goes to President Obama.
But pressure on leadership to pass the weakest bill will be intense—from conservatives like Joe Lieberman, and from
those arguing that we can’t to risk losing their votes. So to end up with a strong final
bill, we need to make sure leadership knows it’s progressives’ votes they’re risking with a watered-down bill. Then the scales will tip, and Obama and
leadership will be forced to shift their pressure to move conservative holdouts to vote yes, rather than gut the final bill
to please them.
The House bill is, in nearly every way, stronger than what’s in the Senate. It would cover 36 million Americans, create real
competition with a national public option, provide stronger subsidies for low income Americans, hold insurance companies
accountable with real regulations, and much more. Of course, it also contains the awful anti-choice “Stupak” provision,
which is just another reason we need strong progressive voices leading up to conference.
Can you call Rep. Woolsey today and show her that you’re counting on her in
this fight? Ask her to speak out against the weak Senate bill, and fight to make sure the final bill includes
core components of the House bill, including a national public option.

God Gets Me Stoned, Digs Joan Osborne. “Don’t Be So Judgmental,” He Says. by SillyMickel Adzema
Posted by sillymickel in History on December 16, 2009
I just clipped and posted this fun part of a larger piece.
Description
You haven’t lived until you’ve had a meltdown in front of your friends and died.
Seriously though, this is the story of my experience hanging out with God. But, don’t be so judgmental! Remember, I got that from the Main Person Him or Herself.Collections
Sample Quotes
Well, that was a trip. No, thanks to any of you. I melted, then became this puddle. the cat drank me, thinking I was delicious!
So I was up there in front of the Real Justice. And, guess what!Ha! to all of you! Turns out God hates filling out forms as much as me.
so there!…. Well I was toast, starting to brown out. But you couldn’t miss the
Major and Only Consciousness, not when he’s breakin into “What if god
was one of us, just a slob like one of us. Just a stranger on the
street.”…. “So in heaven,” I ask myself, condescendingly: “Do you really think
there’d be sweat shops spewing out conveyors of clothes? hmmmm?” “No, I
answer myself, seeing the wisdom of my self’s question. “And in heaven,
do you think there’d be anybody having to slave their lives, er, their,
timelessness, away?” “Indeed!” continued the erudite little puke that I
was having second thoughts about being so proud of, now that it’s me
he’s Socratic dialoguing all over my ass. “Indeed,” erudite me said
“It’s heaven, so why would ANYone have to work!?” Now, of course, he was right, but he didn’t have to stress the
“ANY” that way; it was like he was saying, “It’s obviousto everyone,
dummy; what’d you do catch “brain deadness” all of a sudden? Course he
didn’t say that out loud, but, you see, like I said earlier, I went
through primal therapy, back in the day, so I know a little bit more
about myself than the average schmuck. So that’s why I can tell when I’m being a dick to me.

Horse Sense, Revised: The Leaders Were Liars, The Planet is Dying, The Economy Has Imploded…
Posted by sillymickel in History on December 16, 2009
Just revised.
This is a much improved version from the original Horse Sense – shorter, tighter, stronger.
Description:
Now, A Horse Talks! Mr. Ed is back, and Would You Believe Even He’s Pissed at Bush!… But He’s Bringing a Message to All of Us from Our PlanetMates on Spaceship Earth
Thisparticular piece includes Mr. Ed’s Complete, uncondensed, unedited,
uncensored Harangue (a small part of this has appeared in a few
blogs)…. If you’re like most Humans, you’re probably not going to like
it. But it could save your life, just for starters. On second thought,
if you’re reading this, you’re probably not like “most Humans.” You may
already have been thinking about what is wrong with our species, as we
watch ourselves accelerating toward an Armageddon, which could happen
by any one or by several or more together of a number of death traps
that we have set for ourselves…and within anywhere from a few decades
(or less) to fifty years, not much more, with nary a sense of alarm.
So, you folks, already thinking this way, will hardly be offended by
the message from our Non-Human brothers and sisters, and will want to
know what the message is. Still, you’re going to get a lot more than
you expect; it’s guaranteed that you’ll be shown a way of seeing Humans
and our actions that has never occurred to Humans. You will also, no
doubt, be surprised, perhaps enlightened!… as to the reasons these
observers, who have studied us from our first beginnings, give as to
our apparent nonchalance as death hangs over the entire planet,
including ourselves and our families. They also seem to have more
compassion for us than do some of our own Humans for the masses of
Humankind. They point out that many good attempts by Humans have been
undercut, squelched, and more, by a certain group of Humans. So Mr. Ed — he said he needed this job as spokesperson, as the
economy hit him hard too– while it is clear he’s speaking from his own
heart, gives the message primarily of the unimaginable number of living
and dead of all species ever to live on this planet, especially those
that observed us. In this message, they bring not just a wakeup call, a
warning, and understanding of ourselves that goes beyond what we know…
they bring also the way back, to sanity, to safety, in that they tell
us not only how we’ve gone wrong, but also how we once had gone right
and could once again. They show us where we foolishly rebelled against
a beneficent Universe, or God; and chose instead to go it alone, to
reject the gift of the “given way” of happiness, and fooled by our
hubris, which actually arose out of a kind of inferiority complex we
carried from birth, being only half-borns compared to all other
species. Our rebellion came down to hating the one stipulation imposed
by that Universe — a hint: it is akin to rebelling about having to
wait until Christmas morning to open one’s gifts — that is just an
analogy, but it was that trivial. And so this message has good news;
implying that giving up ego, hubris, the rebellion against God’s
blessings, against God’s Love, and adopting a much less effortful
non-macho simple humility and surrender to the Higher Power (which
sometimes wants to please us all the more by making us wait for our
blessings — you beginning to see the Christmas analogy?), can give us
back the Nobility and Happiness we once enjoyed3

“Yet here, only twenty years later, I see this seasoned (Ed speaking:) “Butthen there was that fear that came over your species, unlike anything ever before seen among the rest of us creatures of God. A fear of uncertainty, quite strange. For we think it joyful to not know what the future will bring, and believing in higher forces that really ARE good and loving, we expect to be loved and blessed and gifted with whatever fate the future brings, knowing there is nothing that is not a product of that consciousness of All, which is both good, for All, and perfect, beyond what mere creatures can know in the moment. So we are happy with our lot, never understanding why your kind chose to forego the glorious, blessed lives you had at one time: There was in the beginning such a closeness with what you call divinity that we saw you happy and playful as little babies with their Mamas. You often would howl and laugh, engaging in one of the many Divine games or plays, which made up just about all your life, when at the end, you would discover the switcheroo that had been planned for you, turning seeming distress into delight. You often threw yourselves with glee into the very next of God’s uncertain plays or leelas. We saw how, even as babies, you were being taught. When Mama plays peek-a-boo behind a towel or handkerchief. Even you know how the little child is alternately a little distressed – where did Mama go? – and then when Mama reappears from behind the veil, smiling, loving, happy, and saying “peek-a-boo, I love you,” why the squeals of happiness are the greater for having been fooled into thinking something distressing was happening but wasn’t. That is the way your kind, we have observed for as long as we were aware of your kind . . . that is the way that we have seen your Mama’s teach their children that Mama will always be there, even when she seems not to be. And this learning is precious to the child, for it gives the baby a foundation of certainty that love is around even when not seen.” “But it was always meant, though eventually forgotten… And isn’t it obvious now that it was a teaching meant to be about more than the protection of mothers. Wilber, Wil-ber, that learning was so much like the way we learn, falling down but finding there is always love around and that we will be up again and back in the mix, if we just let the many blessednesses around us come to give us what’s necessary, always… “So, Wilber, the point I’m making is that you now find yourself, like those thieves of old, making a game out of the suppression, murder, and suffering of the masses, as a way of controlling the fear inside you that you have because for so long you have been estranged and not trusting of the Perfect All That Is that managed to sustain billions upon billions, nay, trillions of beings of all kinds on this planet, and so many countless of them playing their parts in this planets slow development, living and dying, even before your species existed. And in your short existence, how you have managed to muck up the perfection wrought by so many over such a long period. Are we sorry for you? Yes. For with your fears and pain you are the saddest of all beings here. But that sadness, and that fear that covers it, is no excuse for the angry murderous rage that is layered over the fear and partakes of its energy, a rage that is horrific enough directed against your own, but now is taking down all life and obliterating the histories and efforts of untold trillions of souls who’ve lived and died before use – human and nonhuman.” |

The Reveal Begins
Posted by sillymickel in History on December 14, 2009
“Mr. Ed, Speaking For All PlanetMates, Begins Human’s Great Reveal” by SillyMickel Adzema
I want to tell you about some big news I received that could be really,
really good. I can’t say too much about it, but I have gotten word
that the Earth Citizens are planning The Great Reveal, as they put it.
what I’ve been told, while Mr. Ed provides the introductory statement
and lays out quite an overarching and complex, however radical a view,
of humans, what’s coming goes still further than Mr. Ed in giving us
insight into the matters that Humans have struggled for centuries to
understand. All I can say, for now, is that you may be surprised
afterwards as to who are the “dumb animals” on this planet. Sounds
harsh, but I’ve been given some idea of it, and, well, if Jesus, or
Mohammed, or Abraham, or Shiva, or well, you fill in the blank, came to
Us in this time of extreme need, in the form of an animal, and was able
to help you to understand and to take you beyond your previous ideas
about God, goodness, and so on, and show you something much more
wonderful, and yet much more in keeping with what we’ve come to know to
be true and is more reasonable, not containing the nonsensicals of many
religions that we are told we must accept on “faith,” ….. well, would
you listen, would you accept the benefit…. or opt for the familiar? Unfortunately,
we humans have a huge tendency to be afraid of change even when it
seems really positive and when the alternative, which we know, is very
bad. That’s how we’ve ended up in this situation; where we put off
changing for so long that now it’s more hopeless the longer we wait.
But, just keep that in mind. For that is what I suppose the majority
of people on this planet are going to have to do — get used to change,
and try to remember that it’s change that’s good, and not what we’re
used to or familiar with. So, that in mind: Would you be the
hero, the individual, who wouldn’t be able to turn his or her back on
Greater Truth, and facing it, it would be yours? And would you see your initial isolation in viewing it that way as a great opportunity to tell others the good news? Anyway, that’s what I hear is in the offing, with Mr. Ed taking the lead and setting the tone by speaking first. Stay tuned. As soon as I know more about what’s coming I’ll post it here. Meanwhile, Ed’s statement is in and making its way across the information network.
